The Very Happy Times
I loved to go to Grandmas house
What a woman she was
I went there Fridays after school
My day was just abuzz
I threw my clothes in a bag
And carried them to school
The day seemed long and endless
Learning those golden rules
Then when class was over
Come rain, or shine, or snow
Off to Grandmas I'd scurry
Telling her everything I know
She let me bake in the kitchen
It always was so fun
I got to really be myself
Till all my work was done
If I was sick she cared for me
She'd doctor me right up
I miss her to this very day
I even got orange juice in a cup
She made me feel so special
Just every time I went
She was a gift from Heaven
Her love was specially sent
When I think of Grandma
I feel all warm inside
It takes me back to yesterday
The very happy times
