The Arrival Of Fall
I heard a little tap on the door

I knew exactly what it was

Fall had arrived with a little thud

Everything was just abuzz

I ran outside and sat on the step

Just to see the jubilee

There was a little nip in the air

And colors were on the trees

Some geese were flying over head

Honking to beat the band

Squirrels were burying nuts to eat

They busily scampered and ran

It came to me just that quick

I didn't know what to say

Our prelude to Winter

Was silently on its way

Our days are markedly shorter

And our Fall is really here

It's a colorful, peaceful, dreamy time

Just a magnificent time of year
