As I listen to Christmas Carols
On this cold crisp Winters night
My problems seem unimportant
When in this holy light
The beautiful Christmas Season
Takes me back a bit
Back to childhood
To a tree with not much under it
It really did not matter
Our lives were very plain
There was the deepest pleasure
From even a candy cane
The tinsel on the tree
The glitter caught my eye
The simple beauty of it
Makes me silently cry
The beauty and the splendor
Of childhood Christmas Days
I wish for the whole wide world
On this most precious of Holidays
