The day we marry We think things will be fine In our new lives we fly off Thinking that we shall never part All of a sudden there is A sad feeling in our heart Something seems wrong From the very start Just take it easy You know it will pass Surely these things Just do not last Days, weeks, months Have passed you by All of a sudden You are buried in the past You begin to realize It is not just about you anymore There are children now In this endless strife These little people Hold our hearts together The key to our hearts In this thing called life As husband and wife We sit on loves shore Wondering why we can't love Each other in the same kind of light Our sad hearts know This loneliness so deep All through the years We keep these things in our sight Finally, there is nothing Left to do anymore We need to move on And find some happiness before we die We go on, and search for Happiness on some other shore We finally end this strife And put a stop to this lie Our children are there They help us make it through They have this way Of bringing us out of the blue We go on in our lives And hope for the best Finding new husbands and wives Was what we needed to do We make all these changes So late in life We give our hearts and minds Much needed rest We pray now for all those involved And wish for them the very best
