I sit here this morning Drinking coffee all alone
I know of course That my children have lives of their own
I think back upon them My, how fast they have grown
Each part of their life Was a unique stepping stone
I sit here this morning Drinking coffee all alone
I think now upon them But I know that I am never alone
Even though they live far away And live on their own
I thank the Lord for all the love Through their lives they have shown
I sit here this morning Drinking coffee all alone
My two Daughters are with me Even if in their own homes
They are here with me Even if in their towns they do roam
My two best friends live with me In my heart here at home
